Discovering more about how the HE sector derives income from facilities and equipment assets
Read content from our recent sector working group & our UK-wide survey.
We recently held the our latest working group with HE event and commercial professionals where we tackled the challenges and came up with a framework for how to move forward.
Our UK-wide, 'state of the sector' survey findings on hiring out HE facilities and equipment are now available for download!
The survey, in collaboration with the University of Derby, sought to understand how colleagues in higher education manage their campus assets from the point of view of sharing access to them within the sector, the community and more broadly, to derive commercial income.
Get in touch if you'd like to take part in our follow-up working groups and test case projects to help design best practice for the sector.
Making the most of assets within higher education
Universities have a broad and varied asset base to allow them to deliver world class education and student experiences.
Everything from state-of-the-art laboratories to professional standard sports facilities, from fully functioning medical wards to high tech media studios, from specialist engineering apparatus to cutting edge fashion design tools.
Facilities and equipment that have value and demand beyond the institution's staff and students.
Demand that can be met to help exchange knowledge, deliver revenue and support communities.
We're partnering with the University of Derby Research and Innovation team, and drawing on experts from within universities, as well as working with partners at JISC and Praxis Auril, to develop best practices for broader asset utilisation and commercial benefit.
